Come join us for a series of cultural events at Vecchia Pizzeria & Mercato where we will discover more about the regions and culture of Italy, all while tasting regionally-inspired wines and food. We’re kicking off the series with Puglia, a southern region forming the heel of Italy’s “boot. It was recently named the most beautiful region in the world by National Geographic and Forbes! Puglia is known for its whitewashed hill towns, centuries-old farmland, and hundreds of kilometers of Mediterranean coastline. The capital Bari is a vibrant port and university town, while Lecce is known as “The Florence of the South” for its baroque architecture. Alberobello and the Itria Valley are home to the “trulli,” which are stone huts with distinctive conical roofs and make up one of the 54 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Italy.
